Donated in 1963

Picture
Smith Memorial Park was originally the fruit farm of Leon Smith, who desired that many should enjoy this beautiful lakeside haven. When offered $250,000 for the property, Mr. Smith decided against profit and donated the orchard to the Town so many generations can enjoy the lake he grew up on.

The Town of Hector now maintains the Park for all of its users.  We have hosted international travelers from England, France, Germany, Italy, Russia, Canada, Australia, and many other countries as well as many local visitors.  We offer 92 acres of trees, trails, waterfront and relaxation, and we invite you to visit us and make your own memories of Seneca Lake and the Hector area!
